Caption Sensitive Training Video
Without Sending It to the Cloud.

Aviation, rail, healthcare, and media organisations produce high volumes of training and operational video — much of it too sensitive to upload externally. Vosuba captions it all on-device: faster, cheaper, and without touching your data.

What your team actually uses captioning for

Every regulated organisation produces video. Most of it can’t go near a third-party cloud service.

✈️

Aviation Safety & Recurrency Training

Cabin crew refreshers, dispatch briefings, incident walkthroughs. Often filmed in secure facilities — cloud upload is a data and security risk. Vosuba captions everything on your own hardware.

Rail Rules of the Road & Competency Training

Driver competency assessments, platform safety briefings, Rules of the Road updates. Regulatory training for rail staff must be documented and accessible.

Leadership briefings, strategy videos, employee all-hands recordings. Captioning improves retention and reach across a global, multilingual workforce.

European Accessibility Act (EAA) — in force since 28 June 2025

  • Unlike the earlier Web Accessibility Directive, the EAA covers private sector companies — not just public bodies.
  • Sectors covered: transport (air, bus, rail), banking, audiovisual media, e-commerce, and more.
  • New products/services: must comply now. Existing products/services (on market before June 2025): must comply by 28 June 2030.
  • Micro-enterprises (<10 employees, <€2M turnover) may qualify for an exemption.

⚠️

Cloud captioning creates a GDPR Article 28 problem for regulated industries.

  • Any video containing identifiable employees, customers, or patients is personal data under UK/EU GDPR.
  • Uploading it to a cloud vendor makes them a Data Processor — requiring a written Data Processing Agreement before processing starts.
  • In regulated industries, a processor breach involving safety incidents or patient interactions can have severe consequences.

Vosuba runs entirely on your Mac. No footage leaves your building. No DPA required.

Frequently asked questions

Does the European Accessibility Act apply to private companies?

Yes — this is what distinguishes the EAA from the earlier Web Accessibility Directive, which only covered public sector bodies. The EAA (Directive 2019/882) applies to private companies providing covered products and services (transport, banking, e-commerce, audiovisual media, and more) to consumers in the EU. It became enforceable on 28 June 2025. Existing products/services on the market before that date have until 28 June 2030 to comply. Micro-enterprises (<10 employees, <€2M turnover) may be exempt.

Does UK law still mirror EU law post-Brexit?

Not automatically, but the UK has its own equivalent laws that impose comparable obligations. PSBAR 2018 mirrors the Web Accessibility Directive for UK public sector bodies. UK GDPR mirrors EU GDPR. The Equality Act 2010 imposes disability accommodation duties. The UK has not yet enacted a direct equivalent of the EAA for private sector digital services, but the Equality Act's "reasonable adjustment" duties apply to service providers broadly. UK organisations selling into the EU are also subject to the EAA for their EU-facing products and services.

We use Windows across our organisation — does Vosuba work for us?

Vosuba is currently macOS-only (Apple Silicon M1 or later). If your compliance or media team already uses Mac, Vosuba can serve as your dedicated captioning workstation. We are evaluating Windows support — contact us to register interest.
